Logiag, regional winner of the 2016 Desjardins Entrepreneur Awards
It is with great pride that Logiag was awarded, for the region of western Quebec and Ontario, the Desjardins Entrepreneur Award 2016 in the category Innovation and Productivity, small business. This category recognizes the development of new products and services as well as innovative processes to increase productivity.
Logiag, a model of innovation
During the summer, the organizers met Logiag for the filming of a video presentation to promote the entrepreneurial spirit and innovative achievements which are responsible for Logiag’s nomination.
In 2015, in partnership with the National Research Council Canada (NRCC), Logiag launched the integrated Laserag system in Quebec, a new method of sampling and soil analysis. Using the laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) technique, a first in agriculture. The Laserag system is part of the expansion efforts of the company, which is currently working on the commercialization of this new technology in the international market.
The contribution of Quebec entrepreneurs recognized by the financial sector
Created in 2005 by the Desjardins Group, the competition aims to highlight the work of companies, institutions, cooperatives, and entrepreneurs of Quebec who stand out with their achievements, their financial performance, and their contribution to the community. Formed of experts of the Desjardins Group and of representatives of business and academia, the jury reviews nominations in taking into account the following criteria: effectiveness and relevance of the strategies, innovation in process, and business performance.
On 17 November, the 39 regional winners will be invited to the annual gala in Quebec for the unveiling of the grand winner in each category.
A unique business opportunity for winners
Thanks to obtaining a media editorial of $40,000 offered by the magazine Les Affaires, the winners will enjoy extraordinary visibility to help them increase their credibility and their reputation within their community.
The prestigious nomination for the Desjardins Entrepreneurship Awards will allow Logiag to assert the potential of its Laserag technology with agronomists and farmers, in addition to promoting its presence in the marketplace.
